• Personality

  
  Proteus is as stubborn as it comes. After his father's death he sought to prove he was better than him at being what he was; saying that he would be the hero of the seven seas. Needless to say that not only is his judgement clouded by his enormous and never shrinking ego, but he has a tendency to be the best; regardless of the situation.
  
  He is a very bratty boy and often convinces himself into thinking that he's right. When things don't go his way he throws tantrums to no end and often verbally abuses others. Despite all this, he does his best to be caring and attentive like his mother but often gets fed up far to quickly.

• Back Story

  
  Proteus was born to a small island in which the Queen ruled justly with her King at her side (though he was more of a lap dog). Well, these were not his parents. Proteus's parents were the "lackey's" of these great rulers. Despite this, he always felt the need to claim himself of royal blood and often throughout his childhood disrupted multiple important meetings involving peace treaties.
  
  It wasn't of much concern at first, as he was only just a small child but when he was nearing the age of five it started to become unbearable and the Queen was growing restless with this child ruining all the peace she had sought to make with neighboring countries. It was at this point in his life that Proteus was moved from the cushy castle to a shack next to it.
  
  Instead of knocking down his ego and forcing him to behave he became more and more irresponsible and obnoxious. He wanted attention, but what's more, he wanted to be better than the Queen.
  
  And so life continued until he was eight a a tragedy struck, well if you could say that. Proteus's father, being the errand boy that he was, had been sent to go and deliver a peace treaty. Well that never happened because he was eaten by sharks. A pity it was, the family was never really attached to the father figure. This being because he was home a week out of the year. Proteus was enraged that his father died
  
  How could his father die and leave the world without a hero? (hero being the subjective word here) at that moment he sought to be the hero of the world they were in and thus began his tyranny as "the hero" as he terrorized people (terrorize also being subjective) thinking he was doing good. Eventually his mother saw it fit that he attend a day care in a country that was across the world and then some. And so Proteus went

• Ongoing Story

  
  Proteus is currently traveling around the world in his bathtub with his two forced companions Ladanum and Paragon so that they (he) may become better than his father and protect the world. All of this while he endangers his friends lives. Though in reality they are a bunch of little children who annoy adult monsters/figures around the world

  -Proteus can play horrible pan flute music that makes any creature wail in pain depending on song and how high/hard he plays

  -He is is surprisingly good at pep talks and name calling

  -Proteus is easily frustrated
  
  -He refuses the help of others ad often accuses them of his own downfall
  
  -He is not a good judge of character, it is a miracle he picked good world traveling companions on his own

  -He will do absolutely anything for Paragon, as long as he deems it cool
  
  -He is illiterate and that puts him at a major disadvantage in a world where language is plastered everywhere

  - He has a bathtub that his mother used to send him to day care, he used to love it and call it his boat but then some kids broke into his shack and wrote butt on it and he doesn't really like it anymore
  
  -He is illiterate because he irritated the Queen on a regular basis and because his mother was trying to teach him before she enrolled him in school but he dumped all the books in the ocean
